Litter September 18, 2008
At the end of the 16th of September, Tycha's body temperature started to drop, and continued to drop the next day. During the afternoon of September 17th, she became restless and tried to create a load of confetti for next carnival already, because all newspapers were torn up in small pieces craftily. During the night, she started to dig and pant more and more, and when she started to be taken with labor, it was time to call Nanda from her bed (who wisely spent the night with her mother in Utrecht instead of far away at home in Groningen). Tycha is and remains Nanda's little girl, so of course she wanted to be present when the puppies were born. Tycha patiently waited till her "mum" arrived and after quite some time of pressing, the first pup was born just after 4 o'clock, shortly followed by number 2. Then the waiting begun again; it took 2 hours for number 3 to arrive, number 4 came over an hour later, and the last one took another 2 hours. The birth was quite difficult every now and then, no wonder since the pups are quite big for such a tiny girl. But she did great and we are very proud of her!
