The authors come from both sides of the Atlantic. Marjorie Quarton describes the caring, raising, breeding and working a Border Collie from her Irish farm in the first part of the book. In the second part Carole Presberg describes the situation in the United States. She also covers the sportive side of the breed. The sports such as agility and flyball have their place as well as herding trials and the serious activities such as search and rescue and service dogs. Almost all of the photos in this book are full colour photos.
